Kermit Erasmus is keen to get his first goal for Cape Town City after misfiring on his debut.
The 28-year-old striker limped off in his side’s 1-0 win over SuperSport United last Saturday and he's confident that he will shake off the strain to play against Baroka FC at Cape Town City on Saturday (8.15 pm).
Erasmus tells Kickoff: “I am satisfied but not entirely happy.
“If you look at the final third, I think I could have done better. But it’s my first game after let’s say a year.
“I am happy to get a chance to play again. I had a little bit of a strain but I kept on going because I have not been playing for a year.”
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns turn their attention to CAF Champions League action and Kaizer Chiefs, 2-0 winners at PSL leaders Wits on Wednesday night, resume their Confederation Cup campaign this weekend.
Ahead of their group-stage opener at Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum, Pirates coach Micho warns his manne not to underestimate their less-illustrious opponents.
The Serb says: “We are having this first match in Zimbabwe where we are opening the group stage competition. It’s a totally different ballgame in comparison with PSL.
“We are playing against a team that is extremely competitive. All the negatives we have seen today we need to correct in the 72 hours prior to the game."
