The Cape’s football clubs kick-off 2020 in a PSL relegation scrap, with Cape Town City in the drop zone on just 13 points and new boys Stellenbosch with two points more after half the season played.
Both Stellies and City will be hoping that home advantage at Cape Town Stadium, against Wits on Saturday (3.30pm) and Baroka on Sunday (3.30pm), will boost their climb up the table.
Stellenbosch assistant coach Wesley Sergel laid out his plans for the year ahead of their first test of the decade.

He tweeted: “My 2020 personal goals for this year: retain our PSL status and more, one or more players to receive a Bafana Bafana call up, one or more players to make the final RSA U23 Olympic 2020 squad, one or more players to receive U20 and U17 national team call ups.”

Meanwhile, coach Jan Olde Riekerink will be looking for his first win in charge of City.
