Should we be concerned that lower-league clubs rely on trialists as the main source for new talent at the moment?
This has been the trend for the Cape’s three NFD clubs as they seek reinforcements for the new season.
Cape Umoya, who hosted their trials last week, have selected a few players that they think have the potential to make the final squad.
That group of players joined them for pre-season training with the hope of impressing head coach, Dominic Isaacs.
Ajax Cape Town have former youth player Yanga Baliso training with them.

The midfielder from Gugs left the Urban Warriors and opted to sign his first pro contract with Orlando Pirates three years ago.
He couldn’t crack the first team and only played MDC matches before being sent on loan to Umoya.
Ayabulela Konqobe, another former Ajax youth prospect who left Ikamva without signing a pro contract, is currently training with newly-promoted Steenberg United.
Trialists are unattached players and I’m not sure how many of them have championship pedigree?
Are we going to have a Cape team winning the title again? Are any of the Cape teams going to make the playoffs?
