Here's another way that you can contribute to the well-being of your people and that’s by paying more attention to the way you stiek uit on the roads.
Just like charity, becoming aware of how you add to road safety begins at home. It’s up to each and every person to make a difference on our roads.
Last week Bobby introduced the topic of road safety and the far-reaching effects of accidents. It’s not a new one, and it’s high time we had a closer look at what we can do to make roads safer.
If your car can’t be seen, then no one can get out of the way. So, here’s how you can make small changes that will have a big effect. Firstly, drive with your lights on, and not just at night.
Just because you can see others doesn’t mean they can see you, so rather err on the side of caution, as they say. So, even when it’s a bit murky out there, in the early evening or even on a dark and cloudy day, put your lights on.
Make sure all your lights are in good working order and the lenses are clean. Even carry spare globes. Get a glow in the dark hazard sign for that inevitable breakdown.
Drive a bright yellow Lambo.
While we’re on the being seen topic, it is equally important to make sure you have the best chance of seeing others on the road. So pay attention to keeping side mirrors and windows nice and clean.
When it’s raining, visibility and road holding is low. The best thing to do is slow down dramatically to give yourself more time to respond. Night driving poses an extra challenge, as we are less able to judge distance at night. Again, slow it down. Low ‘* slow is more than a fashion statement.
