“We are bound by a love for cars and bikes, and a purpose of coming together to do good.” That’s the way Kyle Russon, the managing director of Limousine Extreme, puts it when Bobby Nitro asks him about the motivation behind a recent charity initiative.
The Breaking Barriers Charity Drive an initiative by Limousine Extreme, Boikanyo Investment Group and Cloud 9 Entertainment is for the benefit of underprivi- leged children and draws its support from South Africans of all races, religions and class.
Together, the group mobilised social investment in the Velokhaya Academy, a safe space for children, where they are shielded from the dangers that face children in Khayelitsha, including gangsterism. The academy provides nutritious meals that are vital in developing healthy inquiring minds in a safe environment supervised by the community.

For direct aid to this aim, the initiative handed over a fully equipped catering kitchen to the Velokhaya Academy and organised donations of food in a pilot project that can now provide more than 70 nutritious meals per day for the next 12 months.
Kyle says: “This is just the start of what Breaking Barriers can achieve and we aim to open more facilities to create a positive environment for children to achieve their potential.
“We share a vision of a united South Africa where young people’s hopes and dreams can be realised by harnessing the goodwill of communities.”
