The big show is coming to town as Drift City 2018 is set to rock the Grand Parade like never before (except perhaps for Madiba’s appearance) with self-confessed “tyre-slaying mayhem”.
Bringing a uniquely formulated combination of Drift and gymkhana rules, the action at the event on 24 September is bound to be breathtaking. We’re talking high-speed entries, smoke-filled sweepers, crazy donuts and all-out technical sections that will test the drivers’ skill.
Talking about drivers, you can expect the big names fending off their titles against aspiring talent as everyone is gearing up to bring their A-game. After all, with packed grandstand seating looking on, and this being a sport with intense bragging rights, you can expect drivers to really pull some insane tricks out of the bag to cut their circuit times down and impress with breathtaking sideways action.
In 2017 it was a matter of split seconds between the top three on the podium, and this year it’ll be a tough act to follow, but it’ll be followed nevertheless. Tickets, ranging from R90 to R250 for VIPs, are available via Computicket.
