What are the odds of South Africa winning two major international pageants in one week?
Well, after Miss SA Zozibini Tunzi was crowned Miss Universe on Sunday - and remember, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters won the same title in 2017; and Rolene Strauss was named Miss World 2014 - you have to fancy our Mzansi meisie’s chances at Miss World 2019 this Saturday.
The 69th edition of the Miss World pageant will take place at the ExCeL London, United Kingdom, on 14 December when Vanessa Ponce of Mexico will crown her successor.
SABC3 will be airing a delayed broadcast of the glamorous event from 5pm to 8pm.
The reigning Miss South Africa Sasha-Lee Olivier, who was first runner-up to winner to Miss SA, assumed the title after Zozibini won the Miss Universe 2019 crown.

The brunette beauty said she drew inspiration from Zozibini’s achievement as she sang her praises on Instagram, posting: “Today as you took your first step out into the universe, you carried not only your story, but the story of millions.
“Oh, how the world needed you Queen, no longer can we function in the parameters of what is. It’s up to us to show up and command our space. Amen.”
