First lady Melania Trump is to visit Africa in
October in her first major overseas trip without US President Donald
Trump, the White House confirmed Tuesday.
Dates and countries in Africa were not immediately set for the
junket, which is to be focused on children in the region.
Trump, who launched her Be Best initiative in May to promote
"well-being" for US children, spent a day in September 2017 in Canada
attending the Invictus Games for wounded military veterans in her
only previous trip alone outside the United States since the
president took office.
The former model is Trump's third wife.
