Residents from Kraaifontein were left traumatised on Sunday after they found the body of a young woman crushed under a vibracrete slab on a sports field.
The body of the unidentified woman, 25, was found lying face down at the Central Park sports field in Northpine.
Her head was crushed and her face stuck to the ground, as if it had been pounded into the earth.
Her face was beaten beyond recognition and it’s believed the murder weapon, a bloody concrete slab, was found lying next to her body.
She was dressed in black tights, grey hoodie and Converse All Stars takkies.
A black backpack and empty alcohol bottles were also removed from the scene.
A woman on the scene tells the Daily Voice people always drink at the spot .
“I suspect they were drinking and the young woman was not willing for something, like sex.
“She probably tried to flee her murderers when she was so gruesomely murdered.”
The woman says she’s surprised residents living across the field did not hear anything.
“It’s funny nobody heard anything as here are people living close to the sports field,” she added.
Captain FC van Wyk confirmed the incident and says the unidentified woman is 25.
“This office confirms the body of a female was found in Eoan Street in Northpine. A case of murder is being investigated by Kraaifontein SAPS Detectives. No arrests yet and the case under investigation,” Van Wyk said.
