This little doggie was rescued in Lavender Hill after being shot by a ruthless skollie last week.On Wednesday, the family pet named Chubby took a bullet to his body but survived and is now well on his way to recovery, according to the Cape of Good Hope SPCA.
A concerned neighbour called the SPCA saying the dog had been shot by a local gangster, who had apparently shown no remorse after the incident.
Chubby was picked up by Training Inspector Siviwe Noko and rushed to the CoGH SPCA Animal Clinic where he was immediately operated on.

Owner Leslynn Fortuin says Chubby barked at the gunman after he started shooting in the road.
“Thank you to the SPCA team. I appreciate what you have done for my dog.
“I’m still hurt because my dog was just protecting us and not attacking people.
“How can a person have the heart to do that to an animal? I’m truly happy that he is out of danger and home,” Fortuin said.
Abraham said the SPCA will be prosecuting the shooter in accordance with the Animals Protection Act 71 of 1962.
She said charges will be laid with police as soon as they have all the details.
Anyone who sees acts of animal cruelty may contact the SPCA on 021 700 4158/9 or after hours on 083 326 1604.
