An alleged hitman for a notorious gang causing mayhem in the southern suburbs has been gunned down.
The victim, only known as Fiekie Green Eyes, was shot and killed on Sunday in Grassy Park just after 2pm.
He is an alleged hitman for the Junky Funky Kidz (JFK) gang and was shot multiple times on the corners of Tobey Road and 6th Avenue by people in an unidentified white car.
Another person was caught in the crossfire.
The 20-year-old wounded person was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The deceased died on the scene and, according to a witness at the scene, this was not the first attempt on his life.
“He has been a target after he wanted to rob a high-ranking 6Bob (gang) member’s brother. He thought that being a Funky he was superior and they have been hunting him down.
“You cannot run from your deeds. He has killed how many people and nothing was done to him. He used to brag about his ‘ slagte’.
“He died as he lived and we are grateful he’s off our streets to do less damage,” the witness told the Daily Voice.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, confirmed the shooting incident.
“The circumstances surrounding the death of a 27-year-old man are being investigated after he was shot and killed on Sunday around 2pm in Tobey Road in Grassy Park by an unknown suspect who is yet to be arrested.
“A 20-year-old man was wounded in the same incident,” Traut said.
