Currie Cup rugby will return to Newlands on Friday when Western Province host the Blue Bulls in the north/south derby.
With the Springboks and the British and Irish Lions crossing swords at Cape Town Stadium in the second Test on Saturday, Province will be back at their former stomping ground.
And captain Ernst van Rhyn is hoping to make it a triumphant return after leaving Newlands earlier this year.
Province bounced back on Sunday to beat the Pumas 37-23 after losing to the Cheetahs 38-21 in midweek action.
Van Rhyn believes the Nelspruit win will give them momentum in the derby.
He says: “It was a great win [against the Pumas]. We were quite disappointed after Wednesday [against the Cheetahs] – it wasn’t up to the standards we set ourselves. It’s never easy against the Pumas [in Nelspruit], and we’re glad to get the win and take that momentum [into the Bulls clash].”
