A group of teenagers from Atlantis have been left traumatised after they were allegedly assaulted by cops on Sunday.
Masnoena Petersen from Dura says her 16-year-old son and six friends aged between 14 and 19 were sleeping at her sister’s house on Sunday afternoon when cops barged in.
“It was 1.40pm, my son was at my sister’s house when police broke into her place and went directly at the boys. They were sleeping and beaten to a pulp,” she explains angrily.
Cops allegedly made four of the boys, including her son, fondle each other in the shower.
“The boys had to stand naked in the shower and masturbate each other, they also had to vry mekaar while cops watched,” the shocked mother says.
“One of the boys had to bend over and they shot him with a rubber bullet in the buttocks.
“My child is so traumatised and fears police will come back to hit them again.”

The mother says this stems from an incident on Saturday when residents apparently stood up to police for harassing mense.
“On Saturday, Dura was in chaos. The community stood up to police and stoned police.
“When police shouted rude stuff at them, these boys responded.
“This was police taking revenge on them. I tried going to see the station commander because I’m not going to leave this, a cop then told us: ‘ fo**of hier weg, julle mense van Dura wil mos vir ons gooi,” Masnoena added.
