A 16-year-old boy has become the latest victim of gang violence in the Portland this week.
The teen was shot multiple times in the face, back, neck and chest while standing on the corners of Durban Way and Welkom Road in Portland, Mitchell’s Plain on Tuesday at 6.25am.
Police were called to the scene where they found the teen laying on his back.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana says detectives are working around the clock to make an arrest: “According to reports police attended to a shooting incident at the address, upon their arrival they found a body of a 16-year-old man with gunshot wound to his chest. “Police detectives are following on possible leads in order to bring those responsible for this act to book.”
On the same day, a 32-year-old man was shot and killed and his body found on a field in Portland near Zambesi Street.
