An alleged rapist from Fairways and his father have been sent to Pollsmoor Prison after his alleged plan to kill the rape victim backfired.
Virgil Pieterse, 41, seemed nervous as he stood before Magistrate Goolam Bawa on Thursday as his charge sheet was being read out by the State prosecutor, while his 63-year-old father, Mark, complained about not getting access to his
medication.
The duo have been charged with conspiracy to kill a Mfuleni woman who reported Virgil for rape, back in 2017.

The father and son were arrested by Grassy Park cops on Monday after wakker officers uncovered a plot to kill the woman just days before Virgil was expected to appear in court.
A self-confessed hitman told cops that he was contracted to kill the woman for R4000, but when he failed to carry out the hit, Virgil allegedly sent Junky Funky skollies to his house to threaten him.
He said they wanted copies of the case docket which contained the woman’s address, medical reports and her
statement.
Virgil allegedly initially paid the man R2000 but when he asked more money, Mark paid him an additional R2000.
The defence lawyer told the court that Mark had not received his hypertension medication for several days and asked that both he and Virgil be placed in the hospital section of Pollsmoor.
But Bawa ruled that only Mark could go to the hospital section, because Virgil makeer niks.

The case was postponed to Friday when Virgil will appear for his rape case.
