A group of gatvol Bonteheuwel women who marched on gangsters nearly paid the ultimate price on Thursday as heartless skollies opened fire on them.
Just a day after pregnant mom Petula Williams, 28, was gunned down in front of her home in Terblans Road in a suspected hit on her husband, cowardly gangsters opened fire on protesters calling for an end to the bloodshed.

According to a witness, who asked not to be named, Petula was sitting on a chair in her yard on Wednesday with her two-year-old daughter on her lap.
He says a skollie wearing a black salaah top and fez walked up to her shortly after 5pm and shot the seven-month pregnant woman, who was carrying twin boys, in the chest.
“He came here by the gate and she was sitting in front,” says the witness.
“We think it [hit] was for her husband but they saw it was her and they shot her instead.
“One shot went off and then his gun jammed and he ran away.”
Neighbours rushed Petula to Vanguard Emergency Centre where doctors fought to save her and her babies, but none of them survived.
A relative, who asked not to be named, says the bubbly mom of three was looking forward to the birth of her boys who she had already named.
“She has three daughters and her two-year-old daughter was on her lap when he shot her.
“She was seven months pregnant and named the babies Zach and Zeke and the entire family was excited,” says the relative.
While residents claim her husband is the leader of the Play Boyz gang, who are currently at war with the Hard Livings, Petula’s family declined to comment on whether this could have been the motive behind her murder.

SAPS’ Noloyiso Rwexana confirms the incident and says no arrests have been made so far.
Angry aunties marched on the Hard Livings gang, fingering them as the culprits.
Shortly after 10.30am, police took the alleged leader of the HLs away in a van, as women marched on his home, but the gang retaliated and opened fire on the protesters.
Mom Celeste Muller, 32, says the women were heartbroken by Petula’s death.
“We are protesting to show them we are gatvol of them targeting women and children,” she said.
“The HLs threw us with stones and shot at us. One of us could have died today.”
