Cops have arrested a 26-year-old man who tried to throw away a firearm while he was being chased in Hanover Park on Monday.
Police were carrying out crime prevention operations in Athwood Road at 12.30pm when they noticed a man running away from them.

The man was found in possession of a .38 Taurus revolver and live ammunition.
