Delft police are investigating after another person was shot and killed on Sunday evening.
A 20-year-old man was shot in the head.
The murder happened at a house in Kebbi Street, Leiden just after 7pm.
Residents say the shooter had entered the home, looking for the victim and then opened fire on him.
He was shot in the head and the shooter left.
Paramedics and police were called in, but the man died on the scene before they arrived. This is the tenth murder in Delft alone since Thursday evening.
People were shot and killed in gang violence in Suburban, Blikkiesdorp and The Hague.
On Friday morning, the bullet-riddled body of a woman was found in Symphony Way.
Meanwhile, Mayco Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, has called on the City’s Special Investigative Unit to urgently engage with the police’s Anti-Gang Unit to stem the blood-letting.
Fourteen murders have been reported within 24 hours in KTC in Gugulethu, Delft and Athlone on Thursday and Friday.
Safety and Security MEC Albert Fritz condemned the violence and said his department would be engaging Police Minister Bheki Cele.
Fritz called the province a “war zone” where “1875 people were murdered in the past six months alone”.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, confirms the latest murder in Delft and says no arrests have been made.
