The City of Cape Town Disaster Risk Management has reported a number of weather-related incidents across the metro following heavy rains overnight Thursday into Friday morning.
A number of roads were flooded across the city in areas such as Grassy Park, Parow, and Constantia.
Some roads were closed, including Halt Road between 9th Avenue and Rohm Road in both directions, 35th South Avenue and Owen was also closed in the area, Epping Avenue eastbound and Halt Road, Radnor southbound and De La Rey, while Hugo and Dingle roads in Goodwood was also closed.

A truck that jack-knifed on the N1 outbound before Sable Road was eventually cleared, but had caused major interruptions due to several lane closures.
The City reported that a Roof had also been damaged by strong winds in Kirstenbosch.
No storm-related electricity disruptions or up-rooted trees had been reported to the Disaster Operations Centre.

No flooding has yet been reported in informal settlements, however, the City said Disaster Management officials will continue to monitor high-risk areas.
Residents are asked to direct non-emergency service requests to the City’s Call Centre on 0860 103 089, and to direct emergency calls to the Public Emergency Communication Centre by dialing 021 480 7700 from a cellphone or 107 from a landline.
