A Stalltjie owner saw his gat on Monday when Metro Police busted him with drugs in Khayelitsha.
Officers were monitoring a known drug outlet when they noticed a buyer leaving the place.
The buyer sped off as cops approached him and officers then raided the stalltjie, where they found dagga, tik, a scale and nearly R3000 in cash.
Metro Police’s Ruth Solomons says: “Metro Police officers on patrol in Nkanini Informal Settlement noticed a male leaving a known drug outlet.
“When officers approached him, he ran off and disappeared between the shacks.
“Officers then turned their attention to the outlet - a fruit stand - and conducted a search. They found 78 sachets of Swazi dagga, 12 sachets of tik, a scale and just short of R3 000 in cash in a back room.
“The 32-year-old owner was arrested and charged for dealing and possession of drugs.”
