The man accused of raping and murdering six-year-old Stacey Adams will be receiving his list of charges for his case in the Cape High Court next year only.
Christopher Brown is expected to receive his indictment on 14 January 2019 at the Mitchells Plain Regional Court.
The matter will then be sent to the Cape High Court where he will plead to charges of rape and murder.
Brown, who is currently imprisoned at Pollsmoor, ditched his bail application in August.
His list of previous offences have also been placed on record, which include murder, two assaults, one assault with grievous bodily harm and one for the illegal possession of a firearm.
On 24 June, Stacey’s half-naked body was found buried in a shallow grave next to Brown’s Wendy house in De La Rey Street in Eastridge.
BEHIND BARS: Christopher Brown of Eastridge
Brown and Stacey’s mother, Sasha-Lee, lived together while Stacey lived with her granny across the road.
Sasha-Lee was not at home, and Brown allegedly confessed that he was angry at the mother for going to a party on the Friday night, and that he took his anger out on Stacey and beat her with a pan when she came looking for her mother on Saturday.
He allegedly confessed to trying to sodomise the child’s dead body but was not able to.
On the day of Brown’s arrest, community members tried to burn down his Wendy house and the main house, which belongs to his aunt.
The family has since been moved to a town outside Cape Town for their own safety.
