Advocates Pete Mihalik and Noorudien Hassan became known as the gangster lawyers over the years, representing several known high-flyers, including convicted murderer and 28s gang boss Saliem John, Hanover Park gang kingpin Cecil “Ses” Brown, alleged Sexy Boys leader Jerome “Donkie” Booysen, as well as suspected 28s gang boss Ralph Stanfield.
Stanfield was arrested this month after cops raided his garage in Bishop Lavis and allegedly found several stolen cars.
In 2014, Stanfield, his wife Nicole, his sister Francesca, and three high-ranking cops were arrested on a string of charges relating to fraud, corruption, and contravention of the Firearms Act at the Khayelitsha Priority Crime Court.
They were acquitted.
Stanfield is the cousin of convicted 28s gang boss in Valhalla Park, Saliem John.
Alleged 28s gangster Johannes “Bal” Abrahams, 66, his son, Johannes Abrahams, 41, sister Bonita Abrahams, 36, who are facing charges of the unlawful possession of prohibited ammunition and tampering with serial numbers were Mihalik’s clients.

The family were granted R20 000 bail each.
In 2016, cops unearthed a shipment of 250 firearms and ammunition at their Valhalla Park home.
Hassan was also the lawyer for businessman Irshaad Laher, 41, who is currently facing charges of corruption, money laundering, theft of firearms and ammunition as well as the possession of firearms and racketeering.

Laher is accused of buying 2000 guns meant for destruction from former policeman, Colonel Christiaan Prinsloo, for R1000 each and then selling them at a marked up price of R4500 to skollies, raking in a profit of R9 million.
Prinsloo is already serving an 18-year prison term.
Recently, Mihalik also represented Jason Rohde‚ the Johannesburg businessman accused of murdering his wife‚ Susan‚ at Spier in Stellenbosch in 2017.
