A young father was killed, one injured and six hokkies and four vehicles gutted by fire in a night of mayhem in Blikkiesdorp.
Desperate and frightened residents sent text messages to the Daily Voice begging for help on Friday just after 11pm.
A resident texted: “Please help us, send the police, it’s war in Blikkiesdorp.”
The terror carried on until the early hours of Saturday morning, forcing some residents to flee to the outskirts of the camp in Delft for safety.
Six homes were set alight as well as three taxis and a car.

Cops say the body of a 27-year-old man was found on Saturday morning with a gunshot wound to the head, while a 22-year-old woman was also left injured.
A resident, who asked not to be identified, says the dead man was an innocent person.
“A young married man, who was a father and the only son to his family, lost his life during the early morning hours of Saturday morning
“Please let’s pray for his family and ours that have to endure living in fear,” said the resident.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, explains: “A group of about 100 people were patrolling in Blikkiesdorp, Delft and in that period about six dwelling structures were torched.
“On Saturday police attended to a scene where a body of a 27-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds to his head and body, it is also reported that a 22-year-old woman was shot and wounded in this incident.
“Cases of murder, attempted murder and arson are under investigation with no arrests so far.”
