Police say another drug mert, belonging to the Hard Livings gang in Manenberg, is behind bars just days after his alleged bosses were sent to the mang.
Cops say the 22-year-old man “sang like a canary” after being arrested with 30 packets of tik worth R1500 in Thames Walk on
Friday.
Acting station commander, Colonel Sanele Zama, says the suspect was caught after residents tipped off police just days after they piemped his alleged bosses.
Last week Faizel and Nazeem Hartley, Lincoln Jansen and Leeroy Knipe were bust at a drug house where cops found them packaging an assortment of drugs worth R50 000.
The four men appeared in Athlone Magistrates’ Court last week on drug dealing charges and the case was postponed for a bail hearing while they were sent to Pollsmoor Prison.
According to a police source, on Friday cops followed a tip-off that another HL skollie was selling tik in the street.
“They went to Thames Walk and caught him. When they brought him to the station he sang like a canary and piemped the Hartley brothers and told the detectives he was selling for them.”
Zama says the man was charged with drug dealing and appeared in Athlone Magistrates’ Court today.
“It is unclear why he confessed and implicated others but he was charged and will go to court on Monday.
“This is the second successful drug arrest in that area and we thank residents for helping us get drugs off the streets.”
