The family of a man who has been missing for two years is appealing for anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact them.
Kenneth Abrahams, believed to be in his 60s, has been missing since 2017.
A family member from Hanover Park says although he roamed the streets, Kenneth came home on a regular basis.
“Kenneth is known as ‘Tjap’ or ‘Nek Tjap’ and he has just disappeared,” the concerned relative says.
“He always came to pop in here, had some food and would take a bath and then we would not see him for a while, but he never stayed away this long.”
She says alarm bells went off when they heard nothing from Kenneth for months.
“I was everywhere where I thought he could be but I have come up with nothing,” she says.
She says she regularly goes to Claremont to look for Kenneth and finally got a lead last week.
“When I finally got someone who saw him, they told me he was assaulted by members of the 28s gang and was rushed to the hospital with an ambulance,” she explains.
DESPERATE SEARCH: Kenneth Abrahams
The woman says she doesn’t know whether her uncle was just injured, or if the attack had been fatal.
“I just want to know that he is safe. I have gone to Philippi Police Station to declare him missing this week, but now we will have to wait.
“I am very concerned and I am seeking help from anyone who has seen him, even if it was a while ago.”
