Ten more offences are to be added to charges of sexual assault brought against an oupa from Lansdowne accused of paying young boys for sex.
David “Ta Pops” Dudley, 66, made his first court appearance on Wednesday at Wynberg Magistrate's Court after he was arrested on Monday.
A tired and dishevelled-looking Dudley stared straight at Magistrate Goolam Bawa as whispers filled the packed courtroom.
The State said about 10 more charges would be added.
The initial charge relates to sexual assault, but the State indicated that rape and sexual assault charges would be brought against the accused.
The victims were all under the age of 16.

State prosecutor Esau then requested a postponement for bail information and said bail would be opposed.
Representing Dudley, Danielle Sive from William Booth Attorneys, said she would rather postpone for a formal bail application.
Sive said regardless of whether more charges were added, she would opt to go ahead with her bail application.
Dudley was remanded into custody.
The courtroom erupted as community members and family members of the victims applauded.
Outside court, community worker Melanie Arendse and about 30 protesters picketed and displayed banners.
Protesters said they were happy Dudley would remain behind bars.
The banners read “Death Penalty 4 David Dudley” and “No Bail For Paedo”.
“This man has taken from our children. They already have nothing and he stole their innocence too. He will not walk away from this. I am so proud of all the community has done to get this man in jail. Now we must make sure he stays there,” said Melanie.
Dudley lives in Lansdowne and works as a panel beater in Ottery and surrounds.
The widowed father of two daughters was arrested on Monday.

According to two of the victims, Dudley would pick up poor boys at the old stables in George Way, drive them to secluded areas and give them drugs to get them erect.
They say he would then touch their penises, perform oral sex on them and make them do the same to him.
After that, the boys penetrated him anally.
He then paid them anything from R36 to R300.
The matter was postponed to 29 January for bail application, pending the finalisation of all the charges.
