They nabbed Thulani Mili, 29, on Saturday, following the robbery at a Total Garage the Friday.
Spokesman Captain Lloyd Ramova says: “At around 12pm, a G4S cash truck arrived at the garage in Highlands Drive to collect money and about four suspects allegedly confronted and threatened the guards with firearms before robbing them of an undisclosed amount of cash and one firearm.
“One guard was shot and wounded during the skirmish and so was one suspect, the suspects fled the scene using a waiting get-away vehicle, which was reported stolen in Brackenfell area in
September 2017.”
He says Mili was traced to a local hospital where he had been admitted for gunshot wounds.
Mili has since appeared in absentia at Mitchells Plain Court owing to his injuries.
“He is expected back in court on October 23 to face charges related to armed robbery with aggravating circumstances,” he says.
