The case of Zane Kilian, who is accused of the murder of top detective Charl Kinnear, has been postponed yet again - this time for Covid-19 exposure.
Kilian, 39, was set to apply for bail at the Bellville Regional Court but the matter was postponed as the accused is in isolation at Goodwood Prison.
He was in contact with a cell mate who displayed Covid-19 symptoms.
Tests have been conducted on the cell mate and results are expected on Thursday or Friday.
As a result, the case has been postponed to 15 December.
If the results come back positive, the matter will not sit on 15 December as the accused will be in quarantine for 10 days as is required for any person who has been in contact with a person with Covid-19. It will be postponed to January 2021.
Kilian was arrested in September for the shooting of the Anti-Gang Unit Lieutenant-Colonel Kinnear in front of his Bishop Lavis home in October.
He is also facing charges relating to a plot to kill top criminal lawyer William Booth.
