A Mitchells Plain family are appealing for help in tracing a 42-year-old relative who they say has gone missing without a trace.
Relatives of Ricardo Mario Fabrik say the father of one from Rocklands left home for work on Tuesday, 1 October and never returned, sparking concern.
Uncle Klaas Sarels, 51, says Ricardo was last seen by his wife that morning and the family have been unable to locate him as he does not have a cellphone.
“He left home on 1 October to go to work. He works as a security guard at the City of Cape Town offices in the Promenade,” says Klaas.
“His wife, Marilyn, has not heard from him since then. He had a cellphone, but was robbed a month ago.
“We have opened a missing person’s case at Mitchells Plain Police Station and have gone to the hospital and mortuaries, but no person matching his description has been found.
“We also checked with the police stations and nobody by that name has been arrested anywhere.
“It is not like him to go away and not inform his wife. He is also not sick.”
Ricardo is described as being 1.7 metres tall, has brown eyes, black hair and a birthmark on his left thigh.
At the time of his disappearance he was wearing a black pants, black shirt, black boots and a brown jacket.
He was carrying a navy and orange Adidas bag.
Anyone who may have seen him is asked to call the investigating officer on 079 894 1548 or Sarels on 084 540 9950.
