The men accused of murdering seven-year-old Emaan Solomons of Ocean View and wounding another man will be remaining behind bars while the investigation continues.
Eben Basson, 27, and Chivargo Fredericks, 20, made an appearance at the Simon’s Town Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
But due to lockdown regulations, the case was postponed to 27 May for further investigation.
Two weeks ago, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Ronald Lamola ordered that only persons who had first appearances and bail applications would be attended to in court while those in custody would be informed via Audio Visual Remand (AVR) on the processes of their matters.
The State is set to prove that Emaan’s alleged killers are affiliated with the Junkie Funkie gang.
The Funkies are currently embroiled in a gang fight with their rivals, the Taylor gang in Ocean View.
It is believed that during the gunfire meant for their rivals, Basson and Fredericks shot and killed Emaan and wounded a man in Libra Street on 25 February.
Emaan had been playing with her friends in front of her home when she was killed.
The name of the male victim, who was rushed to hospital, may not be revealed for investigation purposes.
Sources reveal Fredericks had been caught just hours after Emaan was shot by members of the Anti-Gang Unit.
A day after Emaan’s death, angry residents set alight five drug dens in Ocean View.
