The family of slain Manenberg ouma, Magdalene Isaacs, are calling on the community to support them at Athlone Magistrates’ Court this morning as her boyfriend makes his second appearance.
The hartseer children of the woman fondly known as “Aunty Macy” say they are preparing to face her berk Trevor “Toyer” Michaels, 50, following his arrest by Manenberg police last week.
Aunty Macy’s body was found inside her home in Irvine Street on 10 February by her daughter who returned home from work and found that she had been stabbed to death.
A large crowd gathered outside their home as they expressed their horror.
Her family revealed that Michaels left behind a note where he confessed to the crime and even erased text messages between the couple from Aunty Macy’s phone to destroy evidence.
QUESTIONED: Trevor “Toyer” Michaels, 50
“Our family was at court last week and we were told he will return to court tomorrow [Friday] where he will apply for a bail hearing,” says her 32-year-old daughter.
“We are calling on the community to come and support us as we believe he must stay inside
prison for the duration of his trial.
“The police told us he confessed and they took her cellphone because he deleted messages on her phone.
“Last week at her funeral, almost 1000 people came out for her. My mother raised us on her own and always cared for the elderly people in her community.”
