Four men made their second appearance in the Mitchells Plain Magistrate's Court on Thursday for the rape of a 14-year-old boy.
It is alleged the men kidnapped the boy, drugged him, shoved a Coke bottle up his anus before each one raped him.
According to the case docket, the attack happened last Tuesday in Lentegeur and police are still searching for a fifth man who filmed the boy’s horrific ordeal.
The boy said he was alone and was on his way home when he walked past a group of men he knew.
He said they grabbed him and dragged him into a house where one of the suspects lives.
The teen told police his rapists threatened him with guns and knives.
He said the men injected him with an unknown drug which made him “weak” and then proceeded to undress him.
They first used a 500ml Coke bottle and then raped him.
The boy said after his ordeal, which lasted about an hour, he was let go and went home where he immediately informed his family.
Shocked relatives took him to the Lentegeur Police Station from where he was transported to hospital for medical care.
Last Wednesday the boy, who is an avid soccer player, took police to the house where he was raped.
A police source says when confronted at the house about the firearm, the suspect had the audacity to say: “Dit was tog ‘n plastic gun.”
The source said police also found the glass bottle and knife used in the crime at the house.
The brave boy took police to the homes of all the suspects and they were arrested.
On Thursday, the suspects Ashley Titus, Yasien Sedick, Rameez Martin and Joshua Booysen, stepped into the dock confidently, smiling and waving at family members who came to support them.
The four are charged with kidnapping, rape and assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm.
The state prosecutor said she had received full bail profiles for the accused, but indicated it was a schedule 6 offence and the state would therefore be opposing bail.
The bail hearing will take place on 9 July and the men will remain in custody until then.
As the four exited the dock, they shouted greetings at family members, with one shouting, “Ek is lief vir Mammie en Antie Lisa.”
None of the victim’s family were in court.
