A 33-year-old witness from Ocean View pointed out the men who allegedly killed baby Zahnia Woodward in court on Thursday.
On 30 December 2016, the infant was shot through the head while sitting on her father’s lap outside their home in Carnation Road, while waiting for her mom, Cindy Woodward, to arrive from work.
On trial for murder, attempted murder and obstruction of justice are Christopher September, Larry Johnson, Tashwill Kriel, Morné May and Mirriam Johnson.
Three witnesses have so far testified that Mirriam, Larry’s mother, told them to get rid of her son’s white VW Golf after the shooting.
On Thursday, another witness testified that she had been sitting on a boulder across the road from where dad Bradley Robyn sat with Zahnia and a few of his friends.
The woman has since left the area and cannot be named because her life had been threatened.
“Trompie (September), Lara (Larry Johnson), Gotmoney (Kriel) and Morné were in the car.
GONE: Zahnia Woodward was shot and killed
“Trompie was driving and Lara was next to him. Gotmoney sat behind Trompie and Morné behind Lara.
“All four pulled out guns and shot at Bradley-them,” she told the court.
She says they reversed and kept shooting at people who were still in the road.
“I was hiding behind the electric box on the field and when they went by in the white Golf, I ran to Bradley’s house.”
She says Bradley sped off in his friend’s red VW Golf to get Zahnia to a hospital.
Asked how she knew the accused, the witness said: “I grew up in front of Lara. Trompie I know for two years before the shooting and Gotmoney and Morne for about a month.
“I bought my drugs from them and used to drink with them on weekends at Lara’s house.”
