A cop stationed at Table View SAPS was nabbed for drunk and reckless driving when he allegedly tried to evade a roadblock by driving on the wrong side of the road.
He was also slapped with a charge of bribery for allegedly offering a traffic officer R2 000 to let him go.
The City’s Traffic Services spokesperson, Richard Coleman, said the off-duty cop was caught in Bishop Lavis on Saturday.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said the 52-year-old cop from Bloubergstrand was arrested just after 5.30pm.
Van Wyk said the man was charged and released on bail.
