This junior soccer star needs your help in raising R28 000 to get him to the Manchester and Dubai Cup in April.
Oufmaan Hermanus, 10, from Athlone is one of a group of learners from Hazendal Primary School who was chosen to play in the prestigious tournament, which is set to take place from 1 to 15 April in Dubai.
His grandmother and main caregiver, Ganiefa October, 55, says she just wants the little striker to accomplish all his goals.
“He has been playing soccer since he started school. He plays for his school and although he doesn’t play for a club, he is always playing street soccer with others outside,” she says.
The trip costs R48 000 but Ganiefa has managed to collect R20 000 thus far.

“I saved from the money I had. We have until mid-March to pay all the money, but I don’t know what to do anymore,” she says.
“Many people have been saying they’re going to help but I really don’t know.”
Oufmaan, a Liverpool fanatic, has had it tough recently after his mother died.

“His mother died in September. Soccer is what makes him happy and it’s all he wants to do.”
“Apart from the money, I still need to get him a passport as well as new soccer boots.
“I would really like for him to go on this trip, as this is an extremely great opportunity for him,” she says.
