The Kuils River man accused of beating his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend to death has been sent to the mang after he was nabbed by cops.
Tyrone Adonis from Sunbird Park made his first appearance at the Blue Downs Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday following the murder of Khyle Walter van Noie, 28, over the weekend.
Khyle’s family was left devastated when his bludgeoned body was found dumped on a veldjie on Saturday morning following an argument with Adonis where he allegedly threatened to kill him.
Residents claim Khyle and his girlfriend had only been dating for a month while Adonis was in prison and Adonis allegedly became enraged when he was informed of the new relationship.
Khyle’s heartbroken aunt Amelia Carelse, 50, said that they had been called to the scene in Sunbird Drive where Khyle’s body was found.
She says that he was severely beaten and covered with a blue council bag and grass.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s Eric Ntabazalila says Adonis’ case was postponed to 19 April for a bail information hearing.
Amelia says they are happy with the arrest but question why Adonis’ accomplices were let go by police.
She adds: “Next Thursday we will host a memorial for Khyle at Heideveld Baptist Church at 7pm as he grew up in Heideveld.
“We hope to have his funeral next week, but are waiting to hear when the mortuary will release his body.”
