A Kraaifontein family is shattered after their 14-year-old son was found murdered on Sunday morning.
Eight suspects have been arrested for Shawaan Florence’s murder which took place in Wallacedene just after midnight.
His devastated mother Yolanda Florence, 43, says police came to deliver the news.
“We were in a deep sleep and police knocked loudly to wake us,” she says.
“I was shocked when I was told by an officer to bring along Shawaan’s birth certificate as he was stabbed in Phase 6, which is a dangerous area.
“When I got to the scene, he was already dead.
“Now, all I have is my daughter. We are broken.”
The family is also concerned how they’re going to bury their child now.
