It’s been two decades since we first met and to celebrate, the pair is reuniting for one night only in November to bring you Joe Barber’s 20th Anniversary.
Grapjasse Oscar Petersen and David Isaacs shot to fame as Boeta Joe and Boeta Gamat, who along with Gamat’s wife Washiela (played by David) and the incorrigible Outjie(Oscar) had audiences rolling in the aisles for many years with their kaskenades.
The awesome foursome is back for one show on 23 November at the Grand Arena to celebrate 20 years of funny antics.
The Daily Voic e is an official media partner for the show.
In an exclusive interview, David says: “We had to pinch ourselves when we realised that Joe Barber is celebrating its second decade of success.
“After working on this brand-new show, which provided us with hours of laughter, we can’t wait to share this hilarious new storyline with the audience.”
Oscar says the show remained a hit thanks to their fans.
He says: “Joe and Gamat have come from being men of the community to becoming men of the world.
“The last 20 years have taught them that they are nothing without the community and in order to change, you must first accept who and what you are. Dala what you must.”

He humbly says that it’s the “aweling” between the short- tempered Boeta Gamat, busy-body Washiela and bekkige Outjie that fans have enjoyed the most: “The clips that are floating around on social media are a testament to that.”
They will also feature a host of special guests, including Shaleen Surtie-Richards.
“Shaleen is a woman who captures the spirit of all South African women,” says David.
“She is joyful and she has the respect and love of the nation...needless to say she is very, very funny.”
The barbers also had some thoughts on current hair trends.
“We’ve learnt that haircuts are an expression of the social subconscious . Hoe jy voel, wys deur jou hare. Some might be trendy, but as the weather changes, the hair follows,” says Oscar.
The show also features YoungstaCPT and Early B.
