RX Radio has teamed up with paraplegic athlete Alwyn Uys to raise awareness about disabilities.
The main event is a Half Ironman Marathon consisting of a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride and 21km run.
The event will be held in Durbanville over three days this week, ending on Friday.
RX station manager Noluyolo Ngomani says: “The key significance of this collaboration is to help raise awareness, generate funds and advocate for children with disabilities and that their disability does not define who they are – the possibilities of their potential are endless.
Alwyn is famous for swimming from Robben Island to Blaauwberg Beach in December.
