She doesn’t only grace the covers of magazines.
Our Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida has written her very own children’s book.
Shudu Finds Her Magic hits bookstores this week and is available in six languages.
It is published by Jacana Media and includes colourful illustrations by Chantelle and Burgen Thorne.
The book, which is aimed at children aged between four and nine years old, is inspired by the 25-year-old beauty’s own childhood and the bullying she experienced when she moved to a new province and a new school.
Born in Limpopo, she moved to Mpumalanga before studying at the University of Pretoria where she earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
Shudu says: “The response and interest to the news that I had written a book has been phenomenal.
“I am over the moon that it is now available this week.”
The book retails for R95 and is available in Afrikaans, English, Sesotho, Venda, Xhosa and Zulu.
Shudu has chosen her book as part of her Beauty with a Purpose project for Miss World 2021.
As the reigning Miss South Africa 2020, she will be participating in the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on 16 December.
She adds: “For every book sold, one will be donated to Childline South Africa and The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) who help children with issues like bullying and depression.
“Copies will also be given to literacy organisations like Biblionef which donate books to schools and libraries to help foster a love of reading.”
