New details about Katlego Maboe’s jollery emerged on Tuesday, as the popular TV star appeared in a Cape Town court for allegedly breaching a protection order.
But the court matter did not proceed after the state prosecutor revealed that she only found about the case after reading about it in the news.
The Expresso Morning Show host has been caught in a video scandal after he admitted that he cheated on his partner Monique Muller with a woman named Nikita Murray.
It’s now been reported that Kat slept with Nikita, who is married, while on a trip to Kiev in the Ukraine in 2018.
In the video which has gone viral, Monique also accused him of giving her an STD, which might have affected her reproductive organs if not treated in time.
It has also come to light that she had taken out a protection order against him after he allegedly physically abused her.
The insider told YOU Magazine that Katlego was on a trip to Kiev where he went to watch a soccer match as a Lay’s ambassador at the time.
He then allegedly admitted to Monique that he kissed the winner of the Lay’s competition while they were on the dance floor.
The insider claims that Kat ended up going back to the hotel room where he slept with the woman in question.
At the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, a pale-looking Maboe wearing a mask and dressed in a navy blue suit and maroon jersey with a backpack, stood in line to enter the court building with his attorney.
But he was taken out of the line by security guards and ushered into the court.
The Daily Voice did not spot Monique at the court.
The media were not allowed to attend proceedings.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said the matter did not go ahead as expected.
“The expected court appearance of Katlego Maboe did not take place yesterday,” he said.
“When the prosecutor saw an article about (abuse) allegations made, she contacted the police and asked about the court appearance.
“She was given yesterday’s date for the court appearance. Yesterday morning the docket was not brought to court as was expected.
“She has since asked for the docket to peruse it. No date has been set yet for the appearance.”
The creator of the “We Support Katlego Maboe” Facebook page, Marc Rome Isaacs, said “hundreds” of members wanted to stiek uit but they could not get a permit due to lockdown restrictions.
“(The supporters) believe he made a mistake, like most people do, and that he was sincere when he confessed to Monique,” said Marc.
“They feel that she was vindictive when she released the video footage and that the Protection Order was nothing more than an attempt to get full custody of the child.”
Kat, 34, gave the media the slip after proceedings as he was allowed to leave via the back door of the court.
Shortly after the video confession of his jollery went viral, the TV star was suspended as a host of the Expresso Morning Show until further notice.
Katlego has denied all allegations of abuse, and also stated that the STD allegations were “unproven”.
