Less than a year after getting married, Miley Cyrus has left Liam Hemsworth for another woman.
The couple said their “I do’s” in an intimate ceremony in their Nashville home in December 2018.
But just four months shy of what would have been their first wedding anniversary, 26-year-old Miley and actor Liam, 29, are calling it quits on their marriage.
The singer, who has been vocal on her views of being a “stereotypical wife”, also previously admitted to still being attracted to women.
A representative for the high-profile couple said yesterday: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-involving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and their careers.”
They will remain “dedicated parents to all of their animals they share”.
When rumours started milling of a split last month, Miley shut them down by celebrating her and Liam being together for 10 years.
But she was spotted without her wedding band in an Instagram photo she shared on Saturday.
The split comes hot on the heels of Miley being pictured kissing Kaitlynn Carter while the pair were cuddling by the side of a pool at Lake Como in Italy.
An eyewitness said they were “not trying to hide it all. There were other people sitting by the pool”.
According to the source, Miley and Kaitlynn were “fully on a date, getting drinks, just the two of them. They even got a couple of massages at the hotel”.
The maltrap singer previously described her marriage as “unique”, adding: “I mean, do people really think that I’m at home in a f***ing apron cooking dinner? I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women.
“I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most.”
The two met in 2009 while filming The Last Song.
