The dop and the dite at the presidential inauguration was sure to be a classy affair.
Guests at President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration on Saturday toasted and sipped on Bonang Matheba’s recently launched sparkling wine range.
And they got to tuck into internationally acclaimed celebrity chef Siba Mtongana’s menu.
TV personality Bonang took to social media on Thursday night announcing that Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) from House of Bonang was the bubbly of choice for the event, the sixth inauguration, which was held at Loftus Stadium in Pretoria, reports IOL.
‘’The House of BNG is proud bubbly supplier for the 2019 Presidential Inauguration on May 25 2019! Congratulations to president-elect Cyril Ramaphosa ... we can’t wait to toast with you,” she wrote on the Instagram page.

Launched in March, the businesswoman called the Bonang MCC Brut Rosé her “latest little guilty pleasure - BNG - a true indulgence for yours truly, with an elegant and refreshing taste profile.
“Be part of the latest taste trend and enjoy this traditional Méthode Cap Classique - perfect on its own or with any celebration”.
Cyril also chose award-winning chef and TV personality, Siba Mtongana, to cater at the inauguration.
A clearly excited Siba, who hosts Siba’s Table on the Food Network, tweeted: “It’s such a great honour to get the opportunity to serve at this level...”
She explained that the president had called her asking if she’d be available to set up the menu for the inauguration.

However, there were conflicting reports about Bonang’s wines being the official celebratory drink.
ANC MP, Fikile Mbalula, tweeted that there was “no such endorsement” when he saw mense congratulating Bonang about her MCC being chosen for the inauguration.
He tweeted: “President when we celebrated our victory said no champagne we must respect our people. The people who put us in power therefore...(sic)”
We come from a bruising election we cant entertain such nonsense this is not a Hollywood party is an inauguration of a President who must serve his people. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 https://t.co/BoxmwW9E77

However, in the video of Siba announcement during which the president did a tasting, a bottle of House of BNG MCC was on the table.
@MbalulaFikile there's @bonang_m wine on the table, how are you feeling? 🤣
