Africa’s Grandest Gathering, the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2020 is on our doorstep, and as usual, it kicks off with the annual Free Community Concert on Greenmarket Square in the city centre.
This year, people are in for a real treat, as the headline acts have been revealed to be Butler, MF Robots (UK), and Lady Zamar.
Also on stage will be the Wynberg Secondary School band, the All Star Band (SA) and the winning band of the Scottish Leader Battle of the Bands (SA) which is currently still taking place and will be announced in two weeks’ time.
In the spirit of making the finest jazz music accessible to everyone in Cape Town, this free concert is held annually and features top acts alongside fresh talent and high school bands.
The show will happen on Wednesday, 25 March from 4pm, just before the 21st annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2020 takes place on 27 and 28 March.
Arrive early to secure your spot because thousands of jazz and music lovers will surely flock to Cape Town for this show.
Organisers say camp chairs are allowed but standing is safer to avoid crowded spaces.
Entry is free and no tickets need to be purchased, so watch out for scammers.
