The Voice SA is back and this week revealed the four new judges who will take on the role of coaches for season three of the popular reality show.
M-Net has selected a different panel this year which includes four hitmakers from different backgrounds and music genres: flamboyant rapper and producer Ricky Rick; Afrikaans gospel, country and pop darling Riana Nel; Afro-chick soul diva Lira; and rock band frontman Francois van Coke.
The quartet will have the daunting task of selecting the cream of the crop of wannabe stars.
Like us, you’ve probably wondered why the Voice SA took a one-year gap.
The Daily Voice caught up with M-Net’s head of publicity, Lani Lombard, in Johannesburg where she explained.
“M-Net 101 has been entertaining viewers with top-notch local versions of international reality shows for many years, but as there are limited slots available on our schedule for these shows, productions sometimes take a break,” she says.
“After being inundated with requests from viewers - as well as talented young South African performers - in the past year, we decided to acquire the rights to do another season of The Voice South Africa for our very popular Sunday night reality slot.”
Tune in to M-Net 101 from Sunday, 3 February 2019 at 5.30pm to see who will follow in the footsteps of 2017 winner Craig Lucas.
The pre-recorded Blind Auditions will kick off on Wednesday at the new Urban Brew Studios in front of a live audience.
