Baby fever is definitely in the air with a third Cape Town musician announcing new additions to the family in just a month.
Singer Nur Abrahams and his wife, Tasneem, are expecting baby number three.
The Strandfontein couple have a daughter, 15-year-old Nihaal, and a son, Mish-al, who is 10.
Tasneem, 36, says she sounded the alarm when she missed her period earlier this month and was shocked at the result of a pregnancy test.
“I decided to do a test to put the doubt out of my mind, but did not expect a positive result,” she says.
“I did it with my colleagues at work and they were totally over the moon.

“For me it’s quite a shock after all these years, but Nur and the kids have never been happier and it shows because they’re treating me like glass, which I’m not complaining about,” Tasneem jokes.
“The kids are both hoping for a little sister, but Nur wants another man in the house to balance things out.
“I’m due the beginning of March 2020 which is still far off,” she adds.
The family of animal lovers own three dogs, two birds and one cat.
Tasneem works as a leasing administrator for a Cape Town mall while Nur, famous for his song Welcome to Cape Town, performs at shows and is kept busy during the minstrel and Malay choir competitions.
Nur, 39, says he is ready to do the pyjama drill all over again.
“I’m so excited; when Tasneem sent me a pic of the pregnancy test via WhatsApp, I was so happy,” he says with a broad smile.

“I’m going to be the one awake for PJ drill and burping because Tasneem will spend nine months protecting the baby in the womb, so I feel it’s only right that I do my part when baby is here.
“I would love a boy, there can’t be too many girls in the house,” he laughs.
Nur follows in the footsteps of his two former Jag bandmates, brothers Emo and Loukmaan Adams, who both announced earlier this month that their wives are expecting.
Meanwhile, Nur has an upcoming show at the Ghoema Theatre in Bo-Kaap from 26-28 July.

“I wanted to have my show in Bo-Kaap simply because it’s where my family lived in Jordan Street, not far from the Ghoema Theatre.
“It’s going to be a very stripped down evening with only myself and guitarist Shaun Franke on stage.”
Tickets cost R150 and are available from Quicket.
