It’s mid-month and downhill from here, the weather for this weekend is looking promising with Spring peeking around the corner.
Local artists are getting together to raise funds for musician Winston Moses at West End tonight.
Winston, 47, from Parow, is the vocalist and producer for the band Encore.
He was diagnosed with stage four kidney failure after collapsing in May.
He has 15% use of his kidney and depends on a dialysis treatment four times a day to survive.
Winston is currently on a waiting list for a kidney transplant, but his family says the dialysis is costly.
His wife, Antoinette, is the only breadwinner and has to provide for their three children.
Calvin Petersen has come on board with an event called “Band Aid for Winston Moses” to raise funds for his medical costs.
“Band Aid will come into play when and if needed for local musicians in Cape Town,” he explains.
“It will act as a relief because many of our local muzos don’t have medical aid.”
