It’s pay weekend, so everyone is in a lekker party mood.
Don Vino Prins is ready to get you in a sexy mood with his show, Saxy Vibes 3, on Saturday at the Grand Arena, GrandWest.
This year, the popular saxophonist celebrates 20 years in music and he has an exciting line-up of
artists joining him, including a 12-piece band and a horn section.
His guests include Amy Jones, Jarrad Ricketts, Salome, Jonathan Rubain, Uncle Cal, PJ Powers and special guest Andrew Young, all the way from the UK.
Don Vino says he shares a special bond with each of these artists.

“Each of them had an impact on my musical journey in some form or other. JR and I have been performing together for over 15 years,” he says.
“I used to listen to PJ Powers when I was young and Amy and Jarrad inspire me with the fresh new sound they’re bringing to the industry right now.
“Salome is one of Cape Town’s favourite divas and DJ Uncle Cal gave me my first club gig at The G Spot when I was 19.
“Andrew Young is all the way from Liverpool and is one of the most dynamic sax players and because this is a Saxy Vibes production, I just had to have him on stage with me.”

Don Vino says looking back, nowadays there are many more opportunities for musicians than there were two decades ago, “especially instrumentalists such as myself to pursue their dream of becoming a solo artist”.
“The resources and just the all-round support for local music has come along way,” he adds.
He says mense can expect a musical celebration filled with moments of nostalgia, beautiful duets “and all the glitz and glam”.
Tickets are available from Computicket, starting from R120.
