Chad Da Don nearly broke the internet when he called fiancée Kelly Khumalo his “wife” on an Instagram post.
The Motswako rapper shared a new year’s post with fans along with a picture of the hot couple.
But it was the caption that evoked over 5000 reactions: “This was the day I Met Her for the first time, Happy New Years From My Wife and I, 2019 is our Year Babe!!!! (sic)”
After much speculation, the Daily Voice called Chad, 25, to confirm if he had a secret wedding with his lover over the festive season.
Instead, he explained the post and its meaning.
“No, we haven’t gotten married yet, calling her my wife is just slang, that’s what they call a fiancée these days, right? So it shouldn’t be an issue.”
Since then, the lovebirds updated their Instagram bios with ring emojis and each other’s initials.
The couple has trended online since they started dating in October last year.
Chad, real name Donovan Chad Mansoor, and Kelly, 34, got engaged after dating for two months.
They met on the set of her music video Dance Comigo and instantly fell in love.
By mid-November, they were engaged, showing off tattoos on their ring fingers on social media to mark the occasion.
She had a crown with initials DCM and he a crown with KK.
Before Kelly, Chad was already on his third engagement in April last year. However, that engagement didn’t reach the altar.
Sources say Chad also dated Oscar Pistorius’ ex, Samantha Taylor.
Kelly famously dated soccer star Senzo Meyiwa.
The goalkeeper was killed in 2014 at Kelly’s mother’s house in Vosloorus when two men robbed them and shot Senzo.
