Hier kom ‘n ding!
Three more Capetonians have made it to the next round of The Voice SA Season 3 on Sunday night.
Last week, the first three were selected in the first Blind Auditions and this week, Krista Jonas, Amy Tjasink and Mo George joined their ranks.
Coaches Riky Rick, Lira and Riana Nel now each have four talented singers to coach, while Francois van Coke still only has one singer in his corner.
Amy, 26, from Fish Hoek, opened the show with Bebe Rexha’s Meant To Be and immediately Lira noted this was “a very different voice” and got up in her chair to dance along, without turning around.

In fact, it was Riky and Francois who turned their chairs for Amy.
“Riky is a rapper, he doesn’t know that much about voices,” Francois observed, but haaties for him, Amy confessed that she really wanted to be on Team Riky.
“I had been having a rather difficult time in the industry trying to push my music, and I thought a platform such as this could really give me the push I needed to get my songs out there,” she said.
Next up was a 21-year-old student, Mo George, from Bo-Kaap.
He sang the powerful Etta James ballad, At Last, to show off his vocal ability, and impressed Lira.

“You’re an exceptional singer,” Lira said, and then promptly wrote Mo’s name down in her team book, joking, “as a way of claiming you!”
Mo said: “I love Lira’s way of mentorship and I love her music. I’m looking forward to the journey.”
Krista Jonas, 29, from Mitchells Plain, had everyone on their feet when she performed the evergreen I Will Survive and was reduced to tears of joy when Francois, Riky, and her idol Lira all turned for her.
“I want you more than they want you,” a desperate Francois said, but after the passionate pleas from the coaches, Krista became the fourth member of Team Lira.

“My experience on the blind audition was overwhelming,” she said.
“I am so grateful for this opportunity; it’s finally my turn to share my gift with the world.”
The battle between the coaches hots up next week when the Blind Auditions continue.
